He comes here every night, sometimes he dances, sometimes he don’t; he mostly just watches people from a distance, waiting for something unexpected to happen even if he doesn’t really know what that is.
Tonight, he came with the intention of simply watching – sitting on his favorite spot as he sips lazily on his second bottle of beer. It’s a busy night, and Ohno can tell with the way the crowd thickens each time he looks up from his glass, that this night is going to be different from every other night he spent here.
He drops his gaze back on his beer, but not really seeing anything as his thoughts takes him some place he usually goes when he wants everything to disappear in front of him. It’s an effective tool if he chooses not to talk to anyone in particular, most especially when he’s –
“People should just go and dig themselves a hole, and stay there for the rest of the fucking eternity! Fucking assholes!”
Ohno looks up to see a stick of a man walking towards him, wearing a scowl that looks a bit out of place as he slides next to Ohno and grabbing Ohno’s beer bottle without as much as uttering a word; Ohno unhands the bottle and smiles a little, watching as the man downs his beer without even breathing.
The man slams the bottle down the table, wipes his mouth with the back of his palm and stares at Ohno contemplatively; Ohno gives him a brief nod and a small, reassuring smile.
“Bad night, huh?” he murmurs and stands up, holding a finger out as he stands up, “wait here, I’ll go get us some more beer,” he says, not waiting for the man’s response and walking back to the bar to order a few bottles, almost colliding with a few people on his way back to the table.
Luckily, the man is still there. “Here,” he says, putting four more bottles down and pushing one towards the man. The man smiles back and accepts the bottle with at least a bit less scary smile.
“Thanks,” the man replies, reaches for the bottle and takes quiet sips without breaking eye contact; Ohno does the same and stares at the other man quietly. “I’m Nino,” the man says afterwards; Ohno nods.
“Ohno,”
The man smiles. “So, Ohchan –“ the man – Nino – inquires, fingertips grazing the table’s top as he stares into Ohno’s eyes. “you come here often?” he asks. Ohno tilts his head to the side as an answer, barely missing the way Nino’s lips curves at the edges. It’s sort of beautiful, Ohno thinks, the way Nino smiles as if he has completely forgotten that he’d just invaded Ohno’s space and drank Ohno’s beer before they even managed to know each other’s given names.
“You can say that,” he answers with a smile that he knows people like, beaming at the way it makes Nino scoots closer to his side until they’re sitting so close together that their shoulders bump at each motion. “got any problem with that?”
Nino smiles at that. “Not really,” Nino says, turning to his side and staring at Ohno through his lashes. “I never saw you around here before,”
Ohno copies the action until they’re grinning goofily at each other. “I don’t socialize much,” Ohno answers with a little shrug, blinking at Nino as Nino reaches over to run his fingertips over Ohno’s palm. Ohno feels his skin tingles at the contact and realizes belatedly that Nino’s sitting too close that he can practically inhale Nino’s every breathe. “ – until now, at least,”
Nino actually blushes and Ohno feels justified when he reaches over to rest his palm against Nino’s warm cheeks, smiling softly at the way Nino lowers his gaze like a lady. He reaches back and wraps his hand around the one resting on his cheeks, and squeezing lightly at Ohno’s hand before he looks up.
“Great,” Nino whispers, his voice husky and thick and Ohno feels like tasting every inch of Nino, keep Nino close if he can. “Wanna go some place so we can, you know -- ?”
Ohno feels giddy, excitement pounding hard through his ears when Nino leans in, closer and closer still, his mouth barely an inch away from Ohno’s own. Ohno grumbles, thoughtlessly reaching to push Nino’s beer aside before he sloppily presses a kiss against the corners of Nino’s mouth, and enjoys the way it makes Nino’s breath hitch when he lets his lips linger there for bit longer as he nips at Nino’s skin.
“Sure,” he murmurs, taking a good hold on Nino’s wrist as he tugs Nino up with him, “your place or mine?”
Nino just laughs but otherwise lets Ohno lead him wherever he wants them to go. Ohno thinks, as Nino curls his fingers against Ohno’s, that this night is definitely his best night ever – hands down.
