Summary : Young boys love. Butt grabbing and groping.
Three months after their fateful meeting, Nino suddenly found himself more and more attached to Ohno the way he had never experienced with other kids.
To say that he and Ohno get along just fine was an understatement, since Nino’s always the one who initiated the start of any conversation, even if it only involved playing Mario Kart, or drawing dragonballs, or family barbeques.
Ohno, Nino realized, was one weird kid. But all in all, Nino liked him more than anyone he’d have the opportunity to be close with because the older boy simply indulged him with anything he liked. Ohno seldom talkd too, and he preferred listening, or rather dozing instead of opening his mouth to speak.. and Nino was that someone who practically covered up every little thing Ohno lacked in their friendship.
“I just had an epiphany..” Nino mumbled, licking his ice cream off while he stared at Ohno’s face, the older boy’s pink tongue darting in and out of his mouth, also licking his melting ice cream off his finger. It was really a disgusting mess but Nino couldn’t help but thought that the sight was just too adorable for words, with Ohno staring back at him with those big, warm eyes of his and with an expression that clearly looked like he doesn’t understand a word Nino just uttered.
“Did you hear me? I said, I just had an epiphany.” repeated Nino.
Ohno blinked slowly, sleepily. “What was it? Was it tasty?” Ohno mumbled back and Nino snorted. Really, he should stop using words he usually picked up from playing too much online games with his conversation with the older boy before Ohno eventually suffered from massive brain hemorrhage.
He poked the older boy’s cheek and he loved the way Ohno would puff it afterwards, as if annoyed.
“What was tasty? I wasn’t talking about food, you moron. Epiphany’s like a.. vision.” he stated matter-of-factly. Ohno stared at him blankly. “You know, it’s like, I’ve seen a vision of our future selves, together..” he said, smiling sheepishly.
Ohno leaned in closer, inspecting Nino's face. “Kazu, are you sick? Your face had gone red..”
Nino brushed him off, then shoved the cone inside his mouth and almost choked on it. After he had successfully munched the damn cone down his throat, he faced the older boy and smiled. “.. come with me..”
“Where are we going?” asked Ohno as Nino curled his stubby little fingers against Ohno’s arms, dragging the older boy along. “I’m supposed to be home before six tonight.. my Mom’s going to get mad at me again..”
Nino grinned. “Don’t worry Cinderalla.. I’ll get you home before the clock strikes 6, I promise you..”
“Okay..” Ohno agreed in an instant, letting the younger boy drag him forward to wherever he wanted.
*
“Sho-chan, meet Satoshi.. Satoshi, meet Sho-chan..”
Sho-chan, Nino mused, is probably the one and only kid in that neighborhood he had come to like. Well, aside from Ohno of course, but because Ohno wasn’t actually from around here so there’s the big difference. Plus, Sho-chan’s really bright.. being on top of his class and spent almost half of his time studying than playing or just being a kid. That’s just what Nino hated about Sho.. well not really hated but the fact that Sho acted like an adult even though he’s just almost seven years old, crept him out, seriously.
“Hello..” greeted Sho-chan, bowing a little and holding out his hand towards Ohno. “My name is Sho. Sakurai Sho, nice to meet you..”
Ohno stared at the hand, then shifted his gaze to Nino then to Sho’s face. And then without a word, Ohno lifted his own hand and slap Sho’s face, grinning.
Sho looked like he was about to tear Ohno to pieces and Nino couldn’t help but laugh his heart out, staring at Sho’s expression.
Sho was fuming. “What the hell?!”
*
“It’s called a hand shake, stupid..” Sho grumbled, tenderly brushing his face off with his palm. Ohno was still staring back at him, looking totally apologetic and clueless. “.. when someone offers a hand, you shake it and bows back. Didn’t your Mom teach you about manners?”
Nino was still rolling on the floor, laughing his guts out.
Ohno pouted. “But Kazu said~”
Sho waved him off. “.. Nino’s a brat..” he said, shaking his head. He couldn’t help but grin back, seeing Nino enjoys repeating the previous scene around his head. It was probably the first time he saw the younger boy laugh out loud like that, thanks to his newly found weird friend. “.. you don’t need to believe every word he tells you..” he added.
“Including the part when he said that you were the only friend he’s had.. well of course, aside from me.. but well, not really including me since he’s my girlfriend and all..”
Nino and Sho practically choked on their own saliva and Nino quickly went to stand beside Ohno, swearing under his breath as he blushed to the tips of his toes.
“Ehh?”
Nino turned and started dragging Ohno away, using the opportunity of Sho’s momentary mental blackout. “We’re off!” Nino shouted from the door. “.. see you soon, Sho-chan..” he added, keeping Ohno pinned beside him as the older boy kept on looking back and waving his hand.
“Don’t worry Sho-chan..” Ohno managed to breathe out. “We’re going to invite you to our wedding.. you’ll be Nino’s bestman..”
He received a whack on the head for saying that out loud, of course.
