Pairing(s) : Ohno/Nino
Disclaimer : entirely a work of fiction yo!
Summary : Volume 2 - Nino was done reminiscing and had finally found the courage to let go. But then the same person who had disappear from his life came back and Nino again found himself stuck between the past he had desperately tried holding on to and the present that gave him nothing but false hope.
Note : Needs revising.
Forgiveness and letting go, Nino realized, were so much easier said than done.
Perhaps, it was even better if he had at least stayed a bit longer and beat the living crap out of Ohno until he talked so as to clarify the things that should have been clarified a long time ago. But Nino knew the reasons why. Why he had opted on turning around and left without even hearing the answers he needed.
It was because he was scared.
Scared that Ohno would eventually tell him the reasons that would only hurt him even more. And Nino didn’t know if his heart would be able to endure much of the pain or if it was even humanly possible to keep his hopes up when it was clear that Ohno didn’t want to have anything to do with him anymore.
It was kind of pathetic but Nino still wondered how it would feel like being wrapped around Ohno’s arms and being kissed by the older man, the same way as before.
He closed his eyes and let his mind wander and within minutes he felt Aiba’s arms tightened around him and Nino realized that his body was shaking while he sobbed quietly against Aiba’s chest. The heavy silence around them was making him dizzy and Nino badly wanted to just let go and run away, as far away as he can from everyone else. But he couldn’t. Maybe because Nino knew all along that it was useless. He had been running away from the truth and it didn’t do him any good. Pretending that he was okay and had moved on was one thing but fooling himself into believing was another.
It still hurt like hell and Nino didn’t know if it’s going to be any easier, especially now.
“It’ll be okay… it’ll be okay…” Aiba chanted through Nino’s hair, keeping Nino close to him as the younger man tried pulling himself together. Jun and Sho remained silent beside them but Nino could tell how hard it was for them to see him like this all over again.
But he couldn’t help it. At home, Nino never showed this side of him even though sometimes, the need to crawl his way against his mother side was too strong and yet Nino always found the courage to keep everything to himself. His sister would have been someone he could also turn to at times like this but Nino never did. It was a weakness he didn’t want them to know about and it somehow amazed him how good he was for hiding this part of himself from his family.
It was only at times like this, with ‘them’, when Nino would completely let his guard down, allowing his ‘brothers’ to wrap him into their arms while Nino cried silently.
Aiba’s voice dropped into a whisper when he said… “… don’t worry, I will try to find him tonight and I will personally ask him to~”
“You are not helping Nino at all, Masaki!” Jun growled, startling the other three. Jun looked absolutely pissed and if not for the fact that he was standing a few good steps away from Nino and Aiba, Sho was sure Aiba might already been trying to cover himself right that very minute from something that may come flying his way.
Sho chuckled worriedly and braced himself, following Jun’s movement as the youngest started pacing here and there, his face red in anger.
“… but Jun-kun, it was just a normal reaction. We shouldn’t have left him alone with Ohno-kun… if we were there, things might have been entirely different. We could ask him why~”
Jun’s eyes were literally throwing out flames and Sho didn’t know which was scarier: the thought that the world was about to end or that Jun’s rage would be the main reason why. He breathed nervously and opened his mouth to maybe say something to calm Jun down but Aiba had beat him to it.
“… you heard Nino say it, Jun-kun,” the taller man said in a low voice, his tone apologetic but unbelievably firm. “… the reason why he is still hurting is because he is still very much in love with him. He had been nursing this pain for years and now that Ohno-kun is back, isn’t it just right to let Nino know~”
Jun’s mouth twisted bitterly, growling low in his chest and murmured… “ – oh, are you his lawyer now? I never imagined anyone siding with that fool, most especially you,” Jun grumbled hastily. He shot Aiba a glare that would have made anyone ran for cover but this is Aiba, and Aiba probably was the only person who never really cared enough for his own well – being or his own life for that matter.
Aiba shook his head and shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly as if he didn’t care. Jun looked absolutely murderous. “ – he was our friend, Jun… and friends are supposed to ~”
Jun did a quarter turn and jabbed an angry finger towards Aiba’s face. “… shut up Aiba-chan because you don’t know a single thing about that bastard!” Jun shouted, the veins in his neck almost popping out.
Nino lifted his face up and wiped the tears off his face. Sho took three long strides until he was standing right in front of Jun, who was then shaking in rage. “Jun, what are you talking about?”
“… if you really care about Nino, then stop putting thoughts into his head that would only make things worst than it already is!”
Aiba looked hurt but otherwise stayed firm. “… everybody deserves second chances, Jun…” he mumbled. “… even Ohno-kun. And you’re not in the position to dictate things between Nino and him because~”
“… that bastard got married exactly three months after he left, Masaki!” Jun shouted. “… now tell me if he is still allowed to be given a second chance after doing that to that boy whom he vowed to love and protect and who also happened to be our best friend!”
