001. He squinted at the names written on it, willing himself not to shake when he realized it wasn’t his name next to Ohno’s but a woman’s name he hardly recognized.

002. It was like drowning, and the feeling was probably even close to dying when he saw Ohno leaned in to her to softly kiss her lips.

003. No, he was never going to win over Ohno and this stupidity he knew he should have stopped ages ago; he couldn’t, because until now, he knew he loved Ohno so so much.

004. “You wouldn’t change your mind as much as I couldn’t change mine and I guess that’s how it always is between us; I love you but I guess I should be used to the fact that you never made an effort to at least learn to love me back…”

005. Nino wished for one second that it didn’t have to be this, but something else; because no matter how much Ohno had hurt him, he knew he would still find it in him to forgive the older man when he came running back.

006. There’s a croak in his voice when he faced Ohno, taking his hand at the same time he whispered, “You’re not going to be mine no matter how hard I pretend anyway,”

007. He turned around with a hiss but Ohno’s arms were quick to wrap him back into his arms, murmuring his apologies through Nino’s hair.

008. He took that moment to twist in his arms, burying his face against Ohno’s chest and sobbed at the unfairness of it all.

009. He could feel his hold tightening around him, almost suffocating him but Nino preferred it this way; like this, he could at least make himself believe that Ohno loved him more than her.

010. “I’ll always be here for you, Kazu,” Ohno murmured shakily and Nino wished he didn’t have to say it, because he knew it’d be another lie he would most likely believe.

011. He shook his head and gripped the sleeve of Ohno’s shirt, taking a step back and raising his face to gaze at him, “Kiss me; kiss me and go and don’t say anything because I would only end up loving you more,”

012. He hooked his thumb under his chin, and Nino willed himself to breathe properly, “Kazu,”

013. The softness of his voice surprised him and the lingering taste of his lips excited him, and it was probably the fact that he was too busy trying hard not to cry that Ohno decided to part his lips, swallowing Nino’s moans with the sound of his own.

014. Ohno hugged him tight and pressed a kiss against his temple, and whispered, “You’re my soul mate,”

015. Nino smiled bitterly, his insides tinged painfully as he watched Ohno’s retreating back, whispering to himself, “ – and you are my life…”
